Amber and Glamorgan County Cricket Club renew longstanding partnership

We are delighted to announce that we have yet again renewed our long-term partnership with Glamorgan County Cricket Club. Amber first became the official partner of our local sporting facility back in 2012, and since then we have established a great synergy together. Our CEO, Nick Proctor, and Glamorgan’s new CEO, Dan Cherry, recently got together to reflect on the journey they have taken so far and what the future might look like for the cricket club in partnership with Amber.

In our recent video, we are proud to see Dan Cherry talk about the positive experience he has had working with Amber for so long and how our business growth has improved our long-term partnership. As we have expanded as a business, Amber has increased its number of partnerships with other sporting facilities like Glamorgan. This means we have an ever-growing plethora of experience and knowledge to share with all our sporting clients as they continue through their journey with us.

It is becoming clear that for sporting facilities, low carbon footprints and maintaining a world-class facility go hand in hand. While emissions may not have previously been seen as a top priority, the landscape for sport is changing, and prioritising the planet is becoming more important. In the discussion, Dan reflects on Glamorgan’s journey with Amber and our role in managing energy for the site as the sporting landscape has developed. Dan describes the shift as seeing the world of events changing dramatically and that sustainability is increasing in importance with a desire to “…become better custodians of the planet and our world…”.

We are happy to hear that Glamorgan County Cricket Club see great value in working with us and that they are looking forward to setting achievable Net Zero targets in the coming years. We look forward to enjoying some cricket in the sunshine very soon.
