Meet Gary Jackson, our new Director of Client Success

We’re thrilled to spotlight our Director of Client Success, Gary Jackson, and catch up with him about his role, his goals for the business and how his first 6 months at Amber have been.

Can you tell us about your role and what your goals for the business are?

“I’m the Director of Client Success at Amber, a newly created role developed to ensure we put the client at the heart of everything we do. My main goals are to develop and embed a high-performing Client Success team. This means designing and embedding a best practice approach to the client experience.

“This gives our clients a bigger voice, which we can then use to capture insights and create continuous improvement.”

What does a typical day for you look like?

“Two days at Amber are never the same (which I love) and can consist of meeting with clients, coaching the team, problem solving and creating solutions. I spend time working with the Board on business and client strategies, as well as internally championing the client. It’s important to me that we utilise client insights to drive innovative action and keep up to date with industry best practice.”

Can you tell us a bit about your previous roles and what your Amber experience has been like so far?

“I’ve worked across energy, housing, utilities, sportswear and manufacturing industries, predominantly as Group Director of Client/Customer Success. I have been lucky to work for large brands such as Reebok, Adidas, Balfour Beatty and most recently Mears Group PLC.

In my career, I have delivered award-winning customer experience strategies and have a successful background transforming business orientation from operations to customer centric.

So far, it’s been exciting to utilise this area of expertise in my role at Amber over the past 6 months, helping to change culture and develop high-performing teams.”

What attracted you to Amber?

“What initially attracted me to Amber was our core purpose and values. The company’s B Corp status really highlighted that it’s a place where culture and purpose empower colleagues to make a difference. I wanted to be a part of that.”

Can you tell us what you like to do outside of work?

“I love walking, especially with my dogs! Enjoying a day out at the races is always a good time for me or visiting the Lake District as it’s my favourite place in the UK.”
