Celebrating our B Corp recertification

At Amber, being a B Corp is more than just a certification; it’s a reflection of our core values and our commitment to balancing people, planet and profit. We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve recertified as a B Corp with an improved score, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing journey towards positive impact.

Ryan, our People Director, shares his insights on this achievement:

“Amber began its B Corp journey back in 2020 when we took the decision to find an accreditation that would match our ambitions and values to balance people, planet and profit. We knew that the journey would not be straightforward, but it has brought us together under the broad banner of impact. It gave us a consistent language to discuss our aspirations and enabled us to build a team of people passionate about creating positive change.”

Our B Corp score has increased from 88.4 to 100.5, thanks to the incredible work of our dedicated team.

Ryan reflects on this journey:

“It has been really pleasing to reflect on all the amazing progress we’ve made. We’ve improved our communities, enhanced the experiences of our employees and delivered incredible impact for our customers. We’re incredibly proud to have increased our Impact Score to 100.5.”

How our team contributes to B Corp success

Our success is a testament to the passion and dedication of our team. Our ‘B-Team,’ as we call them, have driven initiatives that enhance our overall impact. Additionally, we’ve focused on creating inclusive and educational spaces.

Ryan reflects on the team’s efforts:

“Our B-Team has delivered fantastic initiatives, from advocating for our Primary Caregiver Leave policy to introducing a volunteer policy and reducing our carbon footprint. This team has pushed us into truly meaningful spaces of impact.”

To maintain a steady cadence of impactful activities, we’ve split our B-Team into B-Keepers, responsible for delivering initiatives, and B-Pollinators, who promote the team’s good work both internally and externally. This balance helps keep the energy, engagement and enthusiasm within Amber high.

Looking ahead

Following our recent recertification, we’ve relaunched the B-Team with renewed energy and passion. This team is integral to our future success as we continue to build an organisation that not only seeks to improve our B-impact score but also aims to have a genuine impact on our employees, the communities we serve, our customers and the planet.

Ryan shares his excitement for the future:

“I’m excited about the potential that this group will be able to deliver, not just in terms of accreditation, but overall influence and positive change, which is ultimately the goal of Amber more broadly.”

As we move forward, our B-Team will reaffirm its vision and play a key role in Amber’s overall success. We’re committed to making a substantial and far-reaching impact over the next three years and beyond.
